The Train is Coming….

Hard to believe but the “I’ve been working on the Railroad” is coming back. If you don’t know construction on the new Smart Train as begun.
I met Matt Stevens the Outreach Coodinator and also a local Bass Player in several local Bands. Their will be 70 miles of new rail road track installed and along the the track will be a Class 1 Bike path and pedestrian walkway. That is Cloverdale to Larkspur Landing.
The first Train to run is slated for late 2014. Due to funding rail service will begin from Santa Rosa to San Rafael to begin with. Later with more funding the service will be the full distance. There will be Fourteen 2-3 car length trains made by the Sumitomo of Japan. Frankly that would be my choice for high speed trains considering that mastered the original “Bullet Trains”.
